Well its Monday again!!! Pretty crazy. this week flew by with our trip to Jamaica and all it felt like from Tuesday to Friday was just in fast forward and now here it is another new week! We went to Jamaica for zone conference usually they come out here but they had a whole bunch of people that participated in the conference so they just shipped us over there. Got to meet lots of new missionaries i hardly know half of them from being cooped up in Linstead and then coming out here a lot has changed so it was fun to meet some new ones. after the conference we went to TGI Fridays all of the zone was there our total bill was like 35,000 Jamaican thats insane they are gonna love the missionaries. After that we stayed the night at the Kingston zone leaders house Elder Martinez and Poulsen then the next day we hung out in the office till it was time for us to get on the plane and head back to Cayman. We had to go to Miami i never knew it was so hard to get back in your own country lol they had lines and lines of things for us to do. maybe it was just because we were coming from Jamaica. but that airport is huge we had to take 2 trains a billion escalators and finally we got to our terminal by the time we got there i was pooped. by the time we got back to Cayman it was about 7:30 or 8. first thing we did is went and seen Naketa. She was leaving the next day so we wanted to check and see what time her flight left. then on Friday we had just a normal day i was so tired from the flights that i was draggin my butt all day. we got to see Naketa one more time before she left she told us that she is going to get baptized on the 30th in Jamaica so i hope that still goes through. then we had a branch BBQ at the beach that was tons of fun! We got there a little early to help out but some how we found our way to the swings we were swinging and then I told Monty that he needed to jump off the swing. I went first and Margret one of the interns got an awesome pic of me stiking the landing and when i looked back I saw Monty rolling thru the sand haha. it was so funny he had sand in his pockets and all over. we got to play some volleyball also and we also got so good pictures. At 7:30 we had Kerry-anns baptism interview that was crazy we had to take the web cam from the church and go to her work place cuz she couldnt leave work for a minute or 2 i didnt think we were going to be able to have it but we finally got it done! Saturday we were running around getting things ready for the baptism no one would answer there phones so we had to go to there house and ask them if they would give a talk at it finally it came down to it and it all went good! Elder Montgomery baptized her it was awesome the whole thing was good the talks and everything couldnt of asked for anything better!! It was funny. It was a really cool to finally have a baptisim. and the one we had for next weekend went back to Jamaica so its back to the drawing board, But she will for sure get baptized there. Sunday she was confirmed in church so now she is a member woohoo!!! I had to give a talk and also the 2 new interns they went really good.

This week was alright. We did a lot of finding and walking looking for people to teach but we didn't really find that many. Elder Montgomery is getting transferred so that is no bueno. Its going to be different without having him here. He is going to be a Zone leader in Kingston. It has been awesome serving with him, we have had a lot of great experiences here. On Thursday, we went to grand old house for pasta night with the interns and the new managers for del sol. It was a lot of fun, they are really great and a lot of fun. They are a great addition to the Island. Had some pretty crazy finding stories with dogs and a mile long drive way that had a freaky manikin in the bushes but Ill save those for another time. Just know that we met a lot of people from Scotland and yes i talked about brave heart. FREEEEEEEDOOOOMMMMM!!!!!!!

We had a good week this week had 5 investigators come to church which was awesome. Nakeeta, Helen and Peter a referral named Martha and Digna, Hectors wife. I always say Hectors name like Brad Pitt from Troy, It makes the day a lot better. Sacrament meeting was really good. The Carters gave talks because they are moving back to Utah, Its a bummer they are really awesome. Tuesday it rained ALL DAY and it was a big rain. Since it was raining there were not a lot of people willing to see us. I don't know how that makes sense but its the reality. Kerry Ann's baptism had to get postponed until this Saturday because she had to work so that was a small bummer. I made Enchiladas this week, 2 big pans and they were the best tasting thing in the world. I love Mexican food and haven't had any for the longest time. It was awesome. My birthday package finally arrived and it had cake mix and a pan and frosting in it. I made the cake and it tasted good. We found out that one of our members got married and didn't tell anybody so that was a fun little surprise. We went over there and the pictures were everywhere. We did a lot of walking this week and knocking on doors and we had a lot of rejection at the door. But it is what it is. Saturday night one of our investigators invited us out to watch a netball game. We went for a little bit for support and I have to say netball is just a ridiculous sport. It is very similar to basketball but there are no backboards, no dribbling and no defense when someone shoots. It is so weird to watch. Today we went to the post office and I got dive bombed by one of the birds out here, There are some black birds here that attack people, they go right at there heads, I almost belly flopped the dirt with this one. One of the best moments this week was when we saw Kerry Ann, we had a lesson with her and she offered the prayer and it was awesome, It really was a great experience I could definitely feel something when she was praying it was awesome. Dee-Ann fed us dinner yesterday which was really cool. She is an awesome member really has a lot of potential. We get to fly to Zone Conference in Jamaica on Wednesday so that will be cool. The one year mark is fast approaching, I cant even believe it it has gone so fast it's crazy. But it has been a year full of great memories and experiences and lessons. Really was a good week and its been awesome working with the investigators that we have and helping them to progress towards baptism. The branch out here is awesome too and really help and support us a lot. One of the funniest things this week was seeing a big bull being transported in a backless trailer, being pulled by a pick up truck, it was Hilarious.

Amen........Oh!!....

This week flew by it seemed like. We had some cool things happen. First off yesterday Kerry-Ann, Yolanda and Nakeeta came to Church yesterday. That was really awesome. We had so many people at church that we had to sit in the hall. It was a good sacrament meeting. Then after church we went and saw Hector, he was someone that we found earlier in the week. We went and saw him and found out that he is married and they are both from Honduras. Well it turns out that his wife was visiting with missionaries back in Honduras and that she used to go to the Church all the time and she prayed and knows that the church is true. She was really excited for us to find them. They attend a different church but not for really any special reason. Hector told her he kinda had a problem with the Book of Mormon and she was trying to teach it to him. Then he brought up some small concerns to us but after we explained things to him he was very open. So we are excited to start to teach and work with them. We had dinner at the Rhones yesterday which was really good then we went and saw Kerry-Ann. She accepted her baptism date for this Saturday. We got there and asked her if she was ready and she was like ya but why does it have to be in the middle of the week? We were like what? we would never have it in the middle in the week. She had put in her phone on her calender the 12th of July instead of the 9th. It was pretty funny I guess you had to be there because now that I read it over its not that funny written down, so use your imagination.
On Tuesday we had just gotten done teaching Nakeeta a lesson. She was saying a prayer, Nakeeta reminds me of the low talker from Seinfeld. She was saying a prayer and it was really quiet, elder Montgomery and I were really leaning in trying to here. All the sudden I hear Elder Montgomery with a loud AMEN and I look up about to say it to but she is still in the middle of the prayer and I look at Monty and his face priceless, his eyes were big and mouth open and he looked at me really fast like crap, then threw his head back down Then for the rest of the prayer I'm trying to keep quiet while laughing. It was funny. Wednesday I taught district meeting. Let me set up this next story, everyone here usually always has some sort of an accent and we always say to each other from dumb and dumber when Lloyd is asking for directions from the Austrian lady "That's a lovely accent you have......New Jersey?" Well we did some finding. We were knocking doors and this girl answers and we asked her where she was from and she said Austria. I immediately looked over at Elder Montgomery and started laughing to myself because all I could think of was the beginning part of dumb and dumber and the line where Lloyd is like " Oh Austria, well good day mate....lets put another shrimp on the Barbee" I was trying my very best to get it out but I just couldn't it was too much. She was super nice too and was laughing with us and we had a good chat with her. Well On Thursday for my birthday the Carters took us to a place called Grand Old House that does a Pasta night every Thursday. We go there and are waiting for the Carters, and we see Austria, she works there so we say hi to her and talk to her for a little bit. The Chad and Megan get there and the lady they talk to says that they are all full and we were like nooooo!!. But she was like let see how long it will be so she goes to Austria and asks here and I'm behind the lady and I hold up a thumbs up and smile and Austria gets us the best table in the house it was awesome.
We did some more finding on Saturday and the second door that we knocked a group of people was having a bible study. I looked at Elder Montgomery and he was getting ready to walk a way but it was super hot so I was like Ok can we join you? They said yes and we walked right into the lions den, They were all from different churches and were asking us all kinds of questions, well the phone rings and Montgomery gets up and answers it in the other room, I was flying with out a wing man and the shots kept coming but I will be honest I was holding my ground and I was doing a fair amount of teaching while answering the questions I could tell they were surprised by how much i new and about the things I was telling them. Well Monty comes back is there for maybe 15 seconds and right as I'm about to hand things to him the phone rings again. But long story short we gave them a Book of Mormon and are going to check back with them. A little bit later we met a guy named Wayne and I thought he said Rain so the whole time i was calling him Rain until Monty asked him what his name was. We also started talking to a lady that was walking on the street and we were walking with her talking to her. Her phone rang and she didn't recognize the number so I was like I ll answer it for you so i did and I was like may I ask who is calling and she was like its her MOTHER!!! it was pretty funny.
You Dirt Bags

We had a fantasticle week. We have 3 people with baptism dates: Kerry-Ann, Yolanda and Nakeeta. We had a good turnout on Sunday. Jana and Angie came to church for the first time and they both said that they really loved it and they will be there next week. Angie is a police officer and she has 2 kids. Rihanna and Rahaan. She is super nice and really smart. The second time that we went over there she knew and remembered everything that we taught her about the restoration. Jana is a nurse and we met her last week the same day as Angie, they live very near each other. Jana is really cool and participated a lot in church. Sacrament meeting was good, the last speaker took an interesting approach, he basically called out his wife for not being at church and held up a picture so everyone could see. But the first part of his talk was pretty good. Monty and I were sitting on opposite sides of the chapel and when the speaker started his "tangent" we both looked at each other like clockwork and were like "crap". When you have an investigator at church one of your biggest concerns is that they don't get weirded out by something that is said, and I know we were both like "Oh no" But it didn't phase Angie or Jana. The lesson in gospel principles was the law of chastity so yea quite the first Sunday for the Angie and Jana. It can sometimes be a touchy lesson but Brother Palmer did an awesome job teaching it, he is a great teacher. He told a funny story about when he was biking on some cliffs and freaked out and stopped his bike, his leader came up to him and asked him what was wrong and he was like i got to stop and his leader asked Where are your eyes Wyn, where are you looking and he was like " I'm looking at the freaking cliff man." And his leader told him to look at the safe side. what was suprising was that Angie and Jana were participating the most out of the whole class. After the lesson Chad Carter came up to us and was like "you guys are probably looking at all the girls in Bikinis huh...You dirt bags" It was hilarious, the Carters are awesome and Chad is one of the funniest people in the world. We had dinner with him and his wife Megan on Thursday and it was a lot of fun. We were going to go to a place called grand old house, we get there and walk up to the front and I had to go to the bathroom. The host guy came up to us and asked us what the party name was and I asked him where the bathroom was and blew right past him leaving the question up to Monty. I was in the bathroom and then the door opens and Monty walks in and I'm like what did you tell him and he was like "he couldn't find the carters so i just came in here" So we go out and sit down and wait for Chad to get there. He calls us and tells us that we are going to go to eats cafe instead so we get up and leave and on the way out there is a table with mints so i grab one and Monty grabs like 3....well it turns out that they are the best mints in the world and I told Monty to go and get more and he was like only if you come with me. So i was like fine, I was driving and had pulled out into the middle of the parking lot....so i just leave the car running right in the middle of everything and we go and each grab a handful.....it was pretty funny. Chad served his mission in Rome and he had a lot of cool stories. They invited us over for my birthday so I'm pretty excited for that. On Friday we drove forever to see the Powells. They are an awesome family, on the whole drive over we were thinking of something fun to teach them but by the time that we got there we had nothing. We were starving, we were really hoping they had dinner, for 2 reasons, one we were really hungry and 2 we could not think of a thing to teach them. We get there and sister Powell had tacos, It was perfect. There little boy Chado is really funny. He jumped off a chair with wheels and almost biffed it on his head and his parents were like "oh no" and freaked out but then he jumps up and was like that was totally cool!!!!!! and holds his hand up for a high five looking around at all of us waiting for someone. Saturday, Sister Felelli fed us and it was a good dinner. We had a really good salad with smoked raw salmon and it was really good, I love salmon. Monty didn't like it so i had to eat his fish. That is one thing I wish this island or mission had, lakes or rivers to fish in, I want some trout. Then we had some really good shrimp pasta. Her husband is a really good cook.

Cheese, Waffles and Pot Pies
06.20.11

This week the find of the week for groceries was 99 cent shredded cheese, 1 dollar waffles and 65 cent chicken pot pies. We came home with about 8 bags of cheese, a freezer full of waffles and chicken pot pies. Yesterday at church, Jack Henry gave a talk and it was really good. While he was waiting for his turn you could just see him over there sweating bullets, he was really nervous. But his talk was great. We did a lot of finding again this week and found some really good people. Ray and his family are a really humble group that really seem to be interested. They are from the Philippines. Then we found Jana, who actually called us at 12:10 last night to see who's number called her earlier in the day. It freaked me out man the phone was so loud I sat up and froze I didn't know what it was. Elder Montgomery did the same but then he answered the phone and he tried to make his voice like he wasn't sleeping haha. He answered and was like hello its the missionaries and she said"Oh, I just wanted to see whose number this was, bye." It was pretty funny. Also we had dinner at the Rhones yesterday and they cooked beef tenderloin, ham, corn on the cob and mash potatoes which I helped make. It was really good. Kerry-ann accepted a baptism date for July 9th. She is awesome. We took Frank teaching with us Saturday, he is the biggest 15 year old I have ever seen, he went with us at about 2 and didn't get home until 9 he was with us all day. It was about 7 o clock and we told him we were going to west bay and he was like I'm hungry and Elder Montgomery yelled out "We have to feed him!!!!!. It was funny. Elder Peterson went home last Thursday (he stayed the full 2 years) And the mission already isn't the same with out him. He was my zone leader pretty much for the whole first year of my mission. But he is back in the promise land, Lucky dog.
