11.28.11

Well this week we got some transfer calls. Im staying here in Ochi and am getting 2 new companions. thats right i said two. im getting Elder Kartchner and Elder Ford so we will be a group of three. Im sad to see Elder Mackey go. But he isnt going far just to Mo Bay. So thats the big news.

11.21.11

Alright I'm starting this weeks blog off with what I ate for dinner last night. It came from the ocean and has suction cups....yup it was a squid!!! Crazy, it was really chewy and didn't really have much flavor but it was alright.  So yea for the first time I ate curry squid, how many people can say that? President Hendricks came up yesterday for branch conference and it was awesome. He is a great teacher. Its always good to be around President. We had some good lessons this week, since we are pretty much white washing the area we have been trying to get to know the people here and the area, we spent like 2 hours calling every single name in the phone trying to set up appointments and it actually worked well. Getting to know the area has been fun because its all in the mountains and its green and the weather is cool. We went to this one place where its a big grass Meadow surrounded by some big hills. It looked just like a big meadow up to round lake where we would go fishing. Being up here has really made me miss the mountains and camping. I cant wait to get back and go to the mountains. I want to see if mom's cousin will let me take her horses on a pack trip. We did some finding this week and didn't really find anybody that was prepared. One of the coolest things that happened this week was that i was able to go back to Mo bay and see the Sorensen's and also see all the people that I was teaching that got baptized. I saw Terry ann and chevelle and some others They were really excited. It was cool to be walking down the street and have people still remember me and call out. I loved serving in Mo Bay with Elder Conder. It was awesome. I also got to do a baptismal interview for Sean, he was another guy that Elder Conder and I were teaching and he got baptized yesterday so that was really special. I think that it is just as cool if not cooler to see people that you found and taught then you get transferred then you come back and they are baptized, it is really cool. There was a huge traffic jam on our way back to Ochi, there was a protest going on and a bunch of people put tires and trees in the road and stuff, so nobody could get by so we had to take the back road. We were waiting for like an hour in traffic though. Driving stick in Jamaica can be fun but when there is traffic its terrible. Hope everyone enjoys their thanksgiving dinner turkey, I have my fingers crossed that for my thanksgiving dinner I'll get to have some more curry squid!!

11.14.11

Short this week...

Back in jamaica. Feels good to be home, I had someone try to feed me blended up goat brain and intestine in a soup but I told them of my condition of being allergic to goat so it all worked out... haha. But ya its good to be back, the people are awesome and Elder Mackey is awesome to serve with. We have really good zone. Driving in Jamaica is crazy but its a lot of fun. The brach here is kinda struggling but we are going to do our best to help it.

11.07.11

Well its my last Monday in Grand Cayman, and my last week. What a week it has been. A lot of good stuff happened. We had an awesome lesson with an investigator who was from the Phillipines. We had Aaron, a member, translate for us, it was awesome and the spirit was really strong. One highlight was that we go up to this house to knock and elder mccready is about to knock, his hand is like an inch away from the door, then the door opens and 2 huge snarling German Shepherds are leaping at us barking and trying to jump and charge us, their owner didn't know we were out there and had them on leashes to take them for a walk. He was just and old Englishman and he barely had the dogs, I took off down the driveway and elder mccready was frozen in shock. As soon as I saw they were on leashes I went back but it really got the ole heart pumpin, it was really funny. One of the biggest highlights of this week was the visit from Elder Vinas of the 70. We got to drive him around and go to his meetings with him and have lunch with him and his wife. It was really cool. The spirit is really strong with him, just being around both of them is really incredible. It was such a great blessing, how many people get to be around a member of the 70? It was really cool. He gave us some good counsel and some cool info on the 12 apostles and the Prophet. I'm never going to forget having this opportunity. I'm flying back to Jamaica tomorrow but am going through Miami first so I'm pretty sure I'm going to be on the same flight with them. It seriously was really cool. One thing he told us is that the scriptures are full of patterns and that the more patterns that we find the more we understand the scriptures. He also said that we should study the scriptures for the calling that we have, every time that we get a new calling our study of the scriptures starts over again in relation to our calling. The Atonement allows us to suffer with joy, we don't get to choose if we suffer but we do get to choose if we suffer with joy or not. The gospel it self is really centered around the Atonement and progression is centered around the Atonement and the Temple. The Atonement is the central process of every cycle and procedure in the gospel. I have loved my time here in grand cayman it has been such a blessing. I love it. I feel like I'm leaving the branch stronger than when I found it and I am so lucky to have been able to serve here. The people here are great and I have had some great examples. I am thankful to all of them. I have had some great memories here, and I will never forget them. I'm going to miss all the people here.

Calton and Jack

Pre-Baptism

Me and Vinny, a vet student, he dressed up as Elder Randle

Jordan was a tiger

Chris and Aubrey dressed up as 49er fans

Sunday after the baptism

This week we had a baptism. His name is Calton Brown. He is awesome. He probably is the most prepared person that I have taught on my mission. It was crazy how perfect everything was. I am really grateful to Heavenly Father to have been able to be here for his baptism before I go back to Jamaica. We had about 30 people at his service to support him including Jack, one of the recent converts and friend of Calton, got to baptize him, and that was really special. The weather this whole past week has been really really wet, it rained everyday and it was a heavy rain. When it rains like that its hard to be on the street working because nobody here wants to talk to you when your wet and everyone does not like the rain here. So we tried to see a lot of members this week and didn't get a chance to find too many new people. The branch had a Halloween party here and that was a lot of fun. There were a lot of good costumes and a lot of fun activities. I lost the donut eating contest. We found out yesterday that Elder Vinas of the 70 and President Hendricks are coming out here this weekend so hopefully I am here for that, because that would be really cool. Umm that is all I can think of.

10.24.11

This weeks biggest news is that we changed a tire in the middle of the pouring rain. It was probably the fastest that anyone has ever changed a tire, we could be a nascar pit crew. Yesterday I gave a talk, I'm getting transferred to Jamaica to be a zone leader in Ocho Rios, I leave in a couple of weeks. I'm pretty excited about it. My new companion will be Elder Mackey, I have met him before, he is a pretty cool guy. We have Carlton's Baptism on Thursday, Jack is going to baptize him. Its going to be really cool. Carlton Bore his testimony twice in church yesterday. He is going to be a stud member. The journey for Carlton has been very easy, I'm very grateful that Heavenly Father has blessed me to be able to have one more baptism before I leave this island. I have been really grateful for the opportunity to serve here. It has caused me to grow so much, I have learned things here that I will never forget. I have met some of the coolest people here and have had some really good examples for me of what the future can hold. The branch here has become like my family and I am going to miss all of them. The branch leadership here is awesome and really love their callings and magnify them greatly. Serving here has made me excited to get a church calling in the future and to rock it like a hurricane. Speaking of hurricane it has been raining here for the whole week and still is this week. It makes the weather cooler but it gets old pretty fast. I was lectured on the sabbath day being Saturday for like an hour this week, I hate Saturdays. So that is the story so far morning glory. Christmas is only 2 months away, that is crazy, the second year really does fly by. Elder Mccready thinks that my flavored tootsie rolls are ghetto candy, I think he's crazy. We had some tourists that hailed us down on the street take us to lunch and dinner. Lunch was fresh sushi and dinner was steak at the nicest steak house on the island. It was awesome. They were from Georgia and were really cool. the moleberrys. Until next week everybody, right now I'm going to play some mud football in the hurricane force wind and rain YEAH!!!!!!!!

Smith Cove Beach

An engraved plaque at Smith Cove Beach

Sister Dela Cruz from the Phillipines

It was a good week this week. The family we were teaching became un-interested so that was a bummer. But things are looking up and we have some solid investigators. Friday night was a really cool night, President Johnson took us and an investigator to Calypso Grill, it was a lot of fun. We were eating out on the dock and it was night time and a HUGE yellow moon was rising over the ocean, it was beautiful. President Johnson really is a huge inspiration for me, the guy is a spiritual giant. I have been here on the Cayman Islands for about 6 months and I have to say that it has caused me to grow and learn and progress so much in my life, its really crazy. The people that are here in the branch are amazing. I have learned so many lessons and have had a lot of great examples from so many of the people here. We have at times struggled with solid people to teach and we have done everything we could think of to find people, and we prayed tons, and even though it was the hardest times, it is when we had the most growth and when the branch family here let us lean on them for support.

Hebrews 12:11 " Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievious: nevertheless afterward it yeildeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness"

At the end of the day it really is all about service to others. Mosiah 5:13 "For how knoweth a man the master whom he has not served, and who is a stranger unto him, and is far from the thoughts and intents of his heart?"

We are really building momentum and the future is looking really good. I'm pretty stoked about what we are accomplishing. I love you all.

10.10.11

Had a good week this week with a lot of ups and downs. Yesterday was an awesome fast and testimony Sunday, we had a lot of good testimonies. The family that we have been teaching came to church along with 2 of our other investigators. They seemed to really enjoy it. The family has had a lot of ups and downs, we see them and have a really powerful lesson with them, then they want to take a week to think about everything. This family needs the gospel would be perfect for it, they just need to have some faith in themselves. President Hendricks and Sister Hendricks and the 2 assistants came to zone conference here on Friday. That was really awesome. Its a cool way to have zone conference because its just us and them and we pull out a table and all sit at it. It was a really good meeting, it really was inspiring. President Hendricks is awesome, I love him. While they were here we went to lunch at prime with Brother Workman--founder of the Canadian Football League-- and his wife. We have been teaching his wife and it really has been coming a long good, she got back from Miami and beat her cancer again so that was amazing. The lunch was good and it was a good little meeting we had. Zone conference was awesome, so much of it was on the importance of obedience, it really is everything.

10.03.11

Well to start off Conference was super good. There were some really good talks, pretty much all of them actually. And priesthood was powerful. Definitely glad that I was on a mission for that one... haha. Conference as a missionary is one of the best days of your mission with out question. But I'm sure that all conferences are this good, I just never really listened to them before. I kinda feel like I missed out all those years before. D. Todd's talk was awesome, Richard Scott's and all the priesthood talks were great. It was an exclamation point on the week, the family that we are teaching right now is doing awesome. They came to the first session of Sunday conference and they really loved it. Shirley-the mom- is awesome. She is such a good mom to her kids. It has been a great blessing to teach this family. They really have enjoyed reading from the Book of Mormon. After going through those couple of weeks of not really having anybody solid to teach, it really teaches you to cherish the people that you get. All of our efforts are devoted to this family. I think that we had to pass through the refiners fire to get ready for this family. We got caught in some pretty heavy down pours this week and we have had to run about 50 yards each time to the car. It was pretty funny, you cant help but laugh when running through the rain in huge puddles because there is no drainage system here. So that was pretty much the week.

09.26.11

This week was an awesome week. We worked really hard and did a lot of stuff. We really had a spiritual week and set some good goals and looked at stuff that we can improve on and I think we did a good job. Monday, we went to a place called Rum Point. Its a beach that is on the North side of the Island and there is only one road to take to get there and it goes all the way around the island. So it was a cool drive and the beach was really nice, it looked a lot like a Lake Tahoe beach. There were some hammocks set up and stuff so it was nice to relax. Tuesday we had a good day, knocked a lot of doors and found some decent people. in the evening we saw Angie and had a good follow up lesson with her, she is a really good recent convert and is doing well. Then we went and saw a less active and had an awesome lesson with her, it was really powerful, I hope that she comes back, she is super smart and would really help the branch. Wednesday, we had our district meeting and that was good, then we went to the hospital and there weren't too many customers there. Also our phone broke, so we lost a lot of our numbers and that has been really frustrating. We knocked some doors and made 2 return appointments, for Thursday... remember that.... Later in the day we were knocking a different place and we met a really cool family, had a good first lesson with them. I'm really excited to teach them, I think they are going to be good. We saw Vinny, the new vet student here and recent convert from Seattle, had a really good lesson with him, we are working with him now to get the priesthood so that will be cool. President Ashby came teaching with us that night and it was cool, Prez. Ashby is awesome, really a funny guy. We saw Luraine another recent convert with him and had a good visit and we also saw some old investigators, Helen and Peter, and it went well, I think we are going to teach them again, I think they are ready to start coming to church again. It was a good day. Thursday morning, we had an opportunity to give blessings to a mother and a daughter, Elder Mccready fasted for it and it was a very powerful experience. So remember those 2 appointments we made on Wednesday for Thursday....well it turns out that we god hoodwinked pretty bad, those people didn't even live at those houses, so yeah that was really awesome. That night we saw Adonza and her daughter was sick. I really felt as we were standing there talking to her that we should offer to give her a blessing, we said good bye and I told E. Mccready what I thought we should do and he said maybe lets pray about it so we did in the car and I felt that we should and he did too. So we did and it was an awesome blessing. We called the next day and she was feeling completely better. It was really cool. Friday, we went to a restaurant called Abacus and tried to use the gift certificates that brother Workman got us- 25 bucks each. Well we both ordered lobster Ravioli and it sucked...only like 9 ravioli came in a tiny bowel. So we tried to pay using both certificates but we could only use one at a time so that was lame. It was funny because I told Mccready to read all the print to see if there were any catches before we went in...haha. That night we went to the wedding of Michael Pachino and his wife. Michael is a member from the states, he is a film director and producer for international films. It was really cool, then we went to dinner with president Johnson and the Airharts and the Pachino's to an Italian place, I got Ravioli again and it was a lot better. After dinner we got to hear a world class harp player who has played in Carnegie Hall. It was awesome. Prez. Johnson is the man, he is the most happy and generous guy. Saturday we were up and down everywhere inviting people to the branch bowling party which was awesome. Sunday was way good and the spirit was super strong. It really was a good week. A lot of awesome experiences. There has been a lot of violence here, 5 people shot and killed in 7 days, gang wars in west bay. We go there every other day, pretty crazy. I'm also really stoked for conference.

Love you guys

Me telling McCready to walk us all the way home

Nursery before...

Nursery after!

This week we were really wanting to have a good week. Especially after last week. So we were getting ready to knock a lot of doors and to do whatever we had to do. Monday was pretty cool we went to the turtle farm here and played with some turtles. They have little pools that you can pick up the turtles, we didn't know that we were at the wrong pool. We were picking up all the big turtles and then I look at the map and see that the turtle touching tank is across the park....oh well. It was fun got some good pictures. The first one that i picked up i held it for a little bit then put it in the tank and it totally splashed me, I got the last laugh tho because we found out while we were there on the tour that all the turtles in those tanks are ones that are sold the the restaurants on island to make turtle soup. what now turtle!!! But yea all the turtles there are used to sell to restaurants. Tuesday morning we went to follow up with an investigator who was at church and she wasn't there so we decided to knock some doors. We knocked a few then I saw an open on the second story, so I'm going up the stairs when I totally biff it and fall down a couple of the stairs. I recover pretty good, then we go knock the door and the lady saw me which was good because she invited us in. She was from south America, we had a really good lesson with her and committed her to a baptismal date. That same night we went to Jacks for dinner, while we were waiting elder Mccready got stung by a bee on the neck. It was pretty funny. We really had a good week this week and we have 6 people with baptismal dates. So our hard work has really paid off. Thursday it was the middle of the day and nobody was home so we decided to go to the local hardware store and look for some potential priesthood.....we ended up talking to one woman. It was a good idea on paper. Friday night we had another good lesson with lesbi and allison every time that we teach them the spirit is super strong. After we saw them we went and taught a new investigator for the first time we taught her and her family. It was a really good lesson and they came to church yesterday and enjoyed it a lot. Everything just is so much better when you have people to teach and when you get to see them start to make changes in their lives that makes a huge difference in how happy they become. Sometimes we meet crazy people, like the lady that we met Saturday, don't worry I have that lesson voice recorded but its all worth it when we find someone who is willing to make there life better. This week was really what we needed and we hope to make the next one just as good. Sunday we had dinner at Chris and Aubrey's with the Airharts and a new guy that moved in to the branch. It was a lot of fun. We were walking to their apartment and passed some coconut trees and Jordan loves coconut so we had to think of a way to get them from a tall tree. By far the best solution submitted was me getting on the shoulders of Elder Mccready, we scored 2 coconuts a very awkward stare from the guy that walked by. It was a good week and if all goes according to plan we should be having a baptism on Friday. I really learned a lot this week and I think studying is one of my favorite times of the day. This morning Elder Mccready asked my why i keep empty plastic water bottles in the fridge, at first I didn't have an answer then I realized that it was because my pops does that back home and has done it since i can remember....psycho. I forgot to say that Saturday we helped Angie, our recent convert, paint the nursery, it looks really good.

09.12.11

Had some things happen this week some good, some not so good. Tuesday we had an awesome day we did some knocking at a new place during the day and people were actually there, we talked to a lady named eilsandria, Elder Montgomery met her a long time ago she offered her company to clean the church. Well she was cleaning an apartment here and we talked to her and set up a time to meet her again, she seemed to be really interested. Then we did some more knocking and met some people that were not really interested. We drove to Prospect to do some finding there. We are doing a lot of finding right now because the ones we were working with stopped progressing. We went to prospect and were driving down the main road and then I said there are some cars in that duplex lets knock there, so we turned around and we talked to what would normally be 2 star investigators but there jobs are a big problem. They are flight attendants, so they are really never home. We had an awesome lesson with both of them, the spirit was super strong but there jobs are a huge monkey wrench. Tuesday night Jordan came teaching with us to what were our star investigators. We had another super powerful super good lesson with them Jordan did an awesome job, then at the end the mother say that she really doesn't see herself leaving her church we know that she and her daughter felt the spirit, so this was like a major face palm moment. I was like you got to be kidding me. But it was still a good lesson and they said they would read and pray. but they haven't been returning our calls. I feel like Jim Carey when he is calling Steven and keeps getting the machine, look up the clip. Wednesday we started off with good momentum, we had a good district meeting. We went and knocked lakeside again, and met a girl named Olivia who just moved here. had a good lesson with her and never heard from her again, Her boyfriend is Punjabi whatever that is. We also went and saw the member that we helped move the heaviest TVs in the world, and she came in and said i have good news and bad news, the news.....I forgot to cook for you and I have to move apartments again. Reader, you tell me where the good news is in there. So we set up a time Saturday to move her down 3 flights of stairs over one building and up 3 flights of stairs, man I love heavy TVs. We had lunch with an investigator and a friend of his and a member, the friend was a really old lady, she has a condo on the beach, we got some cool pics. In the evening we went knocking in prospect again and found what we thought at the time were star investigators, I think people have just been telling us what we want to here, until we leave. So this is what it feels like to be treated like an object. Thursday was pretty much the same story, we tried to see the people that we found a second time and it didn't work. So when that happens we do a lot of less active work which really paid dividends, we had 8 come back to church yesterday. So that was really cool this week. Friday we knocked on the door of a big radio dj here, her name is Morgan and she does the morning show here. She was really cool and had really good questions, and it was a good first lesson. But after we left there I felt like we just got bamboozled because she probably is really good at acting interested and asking questions because she interviews people all the time on her show. She probably is what the Cheshire cat off of Alice in Wonderland would be, very crafty with things called words. We had a lesson with Elisandria at the church, remember the girl that seemed really interested, well after having a really spiritual lesson she called us the next day and said she didn't want to switch churches. me "did you pray? her "no." me "will you" her "no" me " long exhale ehhhhhhh............

Then we met Angie at the church and had a lesson on fasting with her. Chris and Aubrey came and they did awesome, it was a really good lesson. It was really cool to have them there. Teaching with members is really good, especially a lesson on fasting. so we were glad they could be there. After the lesson, our dinner appointment cancelled, so they invited us over because they are awesome. We went to see some people, then headed over there, Chris was trying to get his Internet up and working so it was funny to here him talking on the phone with customer support. Lets just say there was a lot of yes mams and no mams and eventually a hang up and call back. Dinner was awesome tho. It was taquitos, nachos, buffalo wings watermelon which was the best watermelon in the world and Mountain Dew. It hit the spot. Chirs and Aubrey are awesome, so grateful that they are here. Saturday was a really bad day, our appointments canceled then our back ups canceled then our back up back ups canceled. So we did a lot of knocking and mosquito's were dive bombing us like the red barron.

Sunday was my moms Birthday. Happy Birthday Mom!!!! Church was good really good lessons. Brother Palmer had another awesome lesson. Then we went and saw the Rhones and then taught a new lady Charmaine. After that we went and picked up a new member Ian Kolbaba, his last name is awesome. I call him Kolbaba. He served his mission in Nicaragua. He cam and taught Eddy with us. Then we went to dinner at the Chris and Aubrey's and it was really good stir fry. So as you can see this week was really kinda tuff but next week will be a lot better. At the end of Saturday I felt like dumb and dumber "We got no food, we got no jobs.....Our pets heads are fallin offf!!!!!!!!!! When are we going to catch a break?"
But i know God knows what he is doing and I know this week will be for my good.

I got a little artsy with my pictures.

Walk Off

09.05.11

So this week was really awesome. We went to the hospitals here and put our names on the chaplain's list, so we are going to be able to go and see some people there. The main purpose of it is that it may lead us to more people. We also went to the old folks home here on the island to See if we could do some service, no its not called del boca vista, its called the pines. It seriously is the saddest place in the world. I asked this old guy John what he liked to do there and this was his response "uhh, go mad". It was pretty funny and sad at the same time. I had to feed an old lady and all she wanted to do was eat her cake. It was really pretty depressing. Im really glad that grams can take care of herself and that she no matter what will never go into a place like that, i wont let it happen. The nurses there are like the nurses in happy gilmore. We did a lot of service this week. We helped Jackie ebanks move into another apartment in the heat of the day and there were 5 of us there and 2 of us working, guess which 2 haha. We moved what i think were the heaviest TVs in the world they were huge and super heavy and of course she was moving to the 3rd floor. I biffed it pretty bad on one of our trips up with the behemoth TV. We also moved some furniture for sis Robinson, and she also lived on the top floor. We moved her furniture up and put it together. This whole week we have been trying to build up our teaching pool. So we have been knocking a lot of doors in the heat and we really didn't have too much success this week. But we are planing on a super star week this week. There was on really cool experience that we had, A lady named Lesbia and her family kinda came up out of the blue, Elder Montgomery and I knocked their door way back in June and she didn't seem to interested but we went and saw them this week and they have been wanting to learn more about Joseph Smith, she said they read the pamphlet and haven't been able to get it out of their minds, but they lost our number. So its really cool that we got to see them again, I hope everything keeps going well with it. We had a branch talent show Friday night and Elder Mccready and I did a zoolander walk off. It was a lot of fun. http://airhart.tumblr.com/post/9818406770/the-walk-off you can check it out here. We had a really good Sunday, had some good investigators come to church and some good lessons. Then we went to dinner at Jordan and Margarets and it was a potato bar and it was really good, I love potatoes. Just so everybody knows the box was full.

08.29.11

Hello everyone. This blog is going to be for the last 2 weeks since I missed a week. Well last week Elder McCready and I both got really sick so for about 3 and a half days we could not leave our tiny one room apartment. so really last week there was no exciting news ............EXCEPT that Angie was baptized on August 20th at approximately 7Pm. So yeah it was a really good end to a really bummer weak. Angie is a stud, she is doing so well its crazy, she loves church and really has taken it all on. She told us the other day that she has never been happier in her life. It has been awesome. She always thanks me for not giving up on her. I don't know if I talked about this lesson on the blog but We almost lost Angie. It was a couple days before Elder Monty left and it was almost our last lesson with her, she said that she had chosen a church and that she didn't like the Book of Mormon. I remember just saying a short prayer to myself asking for help for what to say and do and out of nowhere I was getting things to say and she says herself that it was that lesson that kept her from closing the door. It was probably one of the best lessons on my mission and it resulted in her getting baptized and now she is an awesome member who wants to plan to go to the Salt lake Temple. It is so awesome to go over there and see how happy she is and for her to tell us how happy she is and how good she feels.

The next Monday, the 22nd, we flew to Jamaica to listen to Elder Vinnas of the 70 speak. He was touring our mission. It was really cool, he shared a lot of cool things on the Atonement, he answered a lot of questions about the Atonement that I have spent a couple of days trying to find the answer to. It was a really cool experience. Wednesday we got back to Cayman and went teaching. Yaimy, the Cuban investigator we have been teaching, has a testimony which is awesome, now we just need to work on getting her to church more consistently. But she is cool, she is actually a pro singer and she played a song for us and it was really good, she is planning on singing at the talent show this Friday for the branch. We have something really good planned for the talent show too, there is also going to be a karaoke machine there so yes I will be flexing the golden pipes to some celine and probably some Beyonce. Its times like these I wish I was part of the Von Trapt family. Our investigator Chris, the one we found because of the boat, made it to church yesterday. That was really cool he is an awesome guy and just needs some positive influences in his life. We set up a time to see a member's wife who is not a member so that is really exciting, this guy actually founded the Canadian football league and owned a team. He and his wife are really nice and have a lot of really cool experiences that they have had in there lives. So I'm really excited to meet with them more. Hopefully we can help is wife into the church. I'm also waiting on letters from 2 mysterious somebodies, hopefully they arrive.

This week went really, really well. We had some awesome lessons and some great spiritual experiences this week. The coolest news of this week was how we found our new investigator Chris. This whole week we have been joking with the Zl's saying that I have been reading the scriptures and feel like we should build a boat. So this whole week when ever they call and ask for an update we just give them an update on the boat we are crafting. So the other day, I missed the turn to see an investigator so I went to turn around and in the parking lot of this business is a little crappy wood boat, so I was like we should take some pictures and send them to the ZL's and I almost was like we can do it another day but then something said just do it now, so as we are setting up our cameras and stuff this guy on a bicycle stops and says hey you guys Mormon and we are like ya and we get to talking to him He is from Arizona and came here to get some stuff sorted out, so we set up a next appointment with him. We saw him the next day, had an awesome lesson with him and as he is praying he says he felt this crazy feeling and he had goosebumps all over, so that was really cool. So the morale of this story is that boats solve all problems and lead to new solutions. Another cool thing was that Yaimy came to church for the first time yesterday and she really loved it. She is from Cuba. She also accepted a baptismal date for September. We had 7 investigators at church yesterday and we had some really good meetings. Angie has her baptism set up for this Saturday so I am really excited for that. She is awesome and she made us home made empanadas Saturday and I loved them. I learned how to make them. I love Spanish food. She is from Honduras and she cooks for us every time that we see her. Its awesome, its like having my own taco bell but better. She is really solid. Yesterday, the interns Jordan and Margret cooked for us and it was really good.Tthey are awesome, love having them,Chris and Aubrey here. They have a blog if you want to see it- its Airhart.Tumblr.com yes tumblr is spelled that way. Things are really going good here I think we got momentum on our side. Elder McCready is an awesome teacher and a blast to serve with. SO long until next week, go and build a boat! "I'm on a boat, I got my flippy floppies, I'm on a boat!!"

Spanish Speaking

This week was really good. We had awesome lessons with Hector (said like Brad Pitt in Troy) and Angie. Angie was able to gain a testimony and she accepted a baptism date for the 20th of August. She is awesome and she feeds us every time we go over there. She makes legit Honduran food for us. It's so nice to have legit Spanish food. I love it. Elder McCready and I have found some really good new investigators and we are really excited to extend some baptism dates to them this week. So on Friday, I left the keys at the post office and we had to break into our house in the second story window. Luckily, we found a big ladder to get us up there. There is a crazy bird outside the church that attacks us every time that we get there. Its crazy. I forgot to tell Elder McCready about it and it got him! Today it was clawing his back, haha. Its pretty insane. So I also got a new zone leader this transfer and its my old companion, Elder Conder. Now both my zls are my old companions. Its awesome having them both. They are great and our district meetings and follow ups with them are really awesome. It was just like having a flood of good memories coming back with both of them . We brought Livio teaching with us to see Hector and he did awesome. It was all mainly in Spanish but I could just feel that everything Livio was saying was true. When he was done talking, I just said to Hector who knows good English, I don't know anything that Livio just said but I know that it was true from the Spirit. Hector came to church and loved it. He is really good friends with Jack, a recent convert. It was a really good week. The branch is also starting a 40 day fast to help missionary work so that is really exciting. The branch here is awesome.
